Introduction
Sunlight has the ability to illuminate and isolate a subject, which simultaneously casts the surrounding scene into shadow. Similarly, the mind has the ability to cast one's physical surroundings into darkness, in order to deeply contemplate a specific thought, in the form of a daydream.
Self-portraits illustrate these passing moments of inner dialogue, while still lives represent a physical manifestation of what a thought may look like. Though my body physically remains, my mind becomes disconnected. Temporarily removed from any outside influence, this time allows me the opportunity to exist completely within myself. A feeling of quiet solitude takes over, similar to the feelings evoked by the delicate subject matter.
The sequence of images travels through one day, from morning to evening. Just as the night is riddled with mysterious dreams, so too is the day.
